Environmental Impact Award

This award recognises a woman of colour who has made significant contributions to environmental science, sustainability efforts, or conservation.

Award Criteria

We welcome applications from women of colour who have demonstrated a substantial impact on environmental policies, sustainable practices, or significant environmental research. Applicants are encouraged to showcase their unique journeys and achievements in environmental impact, highlighting the significance of their work and its positive effects.

Applicants may only submit one entry, so please ensure you meet the eligibility criteria below and choose the category that best reflects your work.

Applicants must identify as a woman of colour or as a culturally racially marginalised (CARM) woman.

Applicants must be currently based in Australia and working/studying here.

The submission must relate to work or study in a STEM field.

Nominations are not required to submit an application for the Awards.
If you would like to nominate someone, you can use our nomination template and share it directly with the person you wish to nominate, so they can choose to submit an application themselves.

Winners are selected by an independent judging panel comprising experts and leaders in STEM fields. They will review all nominations and assess them based on the criteria outlined for each category.
